I am a co-founder of a non-profit organization called PepUp Tech – People Empowering People Up through Technology. The original idea came from Selina Suarez, an amazing woman I now think of as family in this journey to make an impact. It was she that took an idea, reached out to people (including myself) and pushed us to act upon that idea with a zeal of determination unbeknownst to this often procrastinator.
PepUp Tech has had an amazing first year in 2017 with so many seeds planted for our future. We created a name, a logo and launched a website as noted in my post: How Five Salesforce Ohana Started a Nationwide Non-Profit

We had our first fundraiser, PepUp Tech Summer Explorer’s Fundraiser, in May and raised money to introduce technology to young children in the Bronx. A summer camp for young children that scared the crap out of us because we did not want to drop the ball on something so precious as the interaction between tech and a child’s mind. The results were in and a couple of quotes from letters received from parents are highlighted on our website.
We had our first official classes in New York, Chicago and Florida as well as receiving an award from Salesforce at TrailheaDX 2017 developer conference. Our students made their presence known at New York World Tour 2017, MidWest Dreamin’ 2017, WITness Success 2017 and Dreamforce 2017.
Our plans for 2018 are big, but with continued support we shall persevere.
