Who is She?

My name is Rebe de la Paz.

My journey started out standard, you know, high school honors graduate followed by full ride pre-med at a tier 1 university. After one year of self-realizations, I took a different path. Let’s just say the bumpy path that led me to a family, degrees, more jobs than is recommended to list on a resume and supporting the growth of a software ecosystem. The Salesforce ecosystem to be specific.

When I first actively began to participate within the Salesforce community ecosystem, I remember there wasn’t a lot of folks who sounded like me or looked like me. It was daunting, but I decided to become a change maker after the warm welcomes I received from all the people I met at the beginning and continue to meet to this day.

Change is no different from force. I’ve used this metaphor before because the logic of it fits into my Salesforce ecosystem narrative. Force equals mass multiplied by acceleration. We often hear people refer to “change” as a “force” or how folks try to “force a change” or even “change a force”. The two are two peas sharing the same pod of time, the defining “moment” is when that pod is recognized.

I decided over ten years ago that I would ride this Salesforce wave and say yes to opportunities despite my own hangups. Change is the board I jumped on to ride the wave. The force of the waves keep this board going baby because despite life’s constant inconsistencies, I’ve been consistent in the actions I deliver to make change within this community.

I don’t have to always talk about what I do for it to be done. I don’t always write about what I’ve done, but just know that each day I am doing a little something that does not monetarily benefit me to support the change I’ve seen over the past decade. That is my reward. Change is the reward.

This is just a snapshot of me. You can gather more about my character via my other posts and meeting me in-person.
